The Island's best New Year's Eve Party is at DORADO'S BAJA BAR & GRILL!
Bring the whole family -- NO COVER! -- for live music, great food, champagne toast at midnight, and party favors for everyone!
J. Micheal Laferty, "Texas Music....Island Style" begins at 7pm with a special musical guest from Austin!
The BEACH BUMS begin at 10pm and play until 1am. Expect a late night appearance from infamous Mint Juleps!

It is that time of year and here I am once again sending out a link to my virtual Christmas Card. Caught this Black tip shark today on the first sand bar. Going out for more. A guy caught 2 yesterday and a hammer head this morning. A very sweeeet day!

The tide ripping into the jetties at about the time the barges got loose...
The day the Causeway DIDN'T get hit....
This tug which has 3 barges through the causeway, loose and aground, holds the rest of his hookup against the protective barrier.... whew... close...
Causeway Protected
It is nice to know that our causeway is better protected... but how do we keep the threat down?....

Pier Protection System protects Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge
Cameron County- Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge was NOT hit by a barge
earlier this evening. The Pier Protection System installed along the bridge
was the structure hit by the barge, which saved the bridge from any damage
or collapse. The bridge has been opened to traffic.
The Pier Protection System was installed in 2004 to protect the bridge from
incidents like todays.
