careful with those fireworks....
In case you missed the most recent weather forecasts...
...WILD FIRE RISK WILL CONTINUE TO BE HIGH THROUGH THE NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAY... ...STRONG COLD FRONT MAKES WINTER A REALITY JANUARY 1ST...
LOCAL WILD FIRE OFFICIALS HAVE INFORMED THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE OF THE CONTINUED THREAT OF WILD FIRE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF JANUARY. OFFICIALS STATED "THE MAJORITY OF THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY IS UNDER BURN RESTRICTIONS NOW AND THE LACK OF SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL OVER PAST FEW WEEKS HAVE RESULTED IN EXTREMELY DRY FUEL CONDITIONS ACROSS MUCH OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS".
ANY USE OF FIREWORKS THIS NEW YEARS HOLIDAY WILL BRING INCREASED WILD FIRE RISK FOR ALL OF THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. IF USING FIRE WORKS...MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS...KEEP FIREWORKS AWAY FROM GRASSY AREAS...AND KEEP WATER OR A HOSE CLOSE BY THE IGNITION. ALWAYS HAVE ADULTS PRESENT WHEN DISCHARGING FIRE WORKS.
A STRONG COLD FRONT IS SCHEDULED FOR PASSAGE THROUGH THE SEMI- TROPICS AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT NEW YEARS EVE...DRIVING WINDS NORTH AT 20 TO 30 MPH AND BRINGING DRY...COLD AIR TO THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. GALE CONDITIONS ARE ANTICIPATED TO DEVELOP WITH SEAS AT 12 FEET OVER OUR MARINE AREAS BY SUNRISE TUESDAY.

holiday vacancy
Due to a last-minute cancellation, I find myself with a vacant condo for New Years. This is a great opportunity for someone to host a holiday gathering in a fun and spacious party spot, get happy and then crawl into the conveniently adjacent bedroom. Make me an offer -- I am ready to negotiate!
sandcastle lesson video
Amazin' Walter, sandy feet, Dennis Barrett and William Lloyd helped about 100 people learn how to build better sandcastles 12/8/07...
Look but don't touch... they tentacles that might still be attached to this guy still have their power to inflict pain.... learn more about the creatures at South Padre Island... visit the Sea Life Center at the foot of the bridge in Port Isabel, Texas...
